Tyler Vance, a long-time resident and teacher in the McCall area, is the very talented and personable Director of Music for the McCall Community Congregational Church.
Tyler’s ministry includes providing music for each service, conducting the Church Choir, and directing a free community recital series, Second Sunday Sounds @ Six. Founded in 2006, this program presents professional musicians and vocalists from all over the country, performing classical and sacred music, free-of-charge, in our Church’s beautiful sanctuary on the second Sunday evening of each month.
With roots in Idaho for several generations, Tyler has lived in McCall for most of his life. A graduate of McCall-Donnelly High School, he went on to Brigham Young University where he received a degree in keyboard performance and pedagogy with minors in Spanish and international relations. The organ is his primary instrument, though he is proficient with many others.
When not at church, Tyler teaches general music (K-5) for the McCall-Donnelly School District. Tyler has five very talented children who frequently perform with him for Sunday services and at community events.
In addition to his Church and community activities, Tyler is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
